A practical guide to a clearer brief and a more useful quotation.
Choosing a tent starts with the way you want to use the space. Prepare a short brief before you ask for a quotation: the setting, the available ground, the activities inside and the way guests will enter and move around.
1. Match the tent style to your setting
Peg and pole tents create a traditional marquee profile. Stretch tents offer a flowing canopy, while frame tents provide a structured outline. Compare the style and the proposed installation with your venue, and ask about the configuration of the particular tent you are considering.
2. Measure more than the fabric footprint
A listed width and length tell you the nominal size of the tent. They do not guarantee a guest capacity or the amount of clear internal space. Leave room for walkways, exits, serving areas and your furniture. The site also needs space for the proposed poles, guy lines or other anchoring arrangement.
3. Plan the equipment inside
Sketch the position of tables, chairs, service counters and any stage or catering equipment. Decide which areas need shade or cover and where people will queue or move. Send the sketch with your enquiry if it helps explain your requirements.
4. Confirm the supplied specification
Ask for the fabric, frame or poles, walls, entrances and anchoring components included in the quotation. Confirm the installation instructions and operating limits for the exact product. An image or a generic tent name does not establish wind resistance, a fire rating, a warranty or the contents of the package.
5. Include delivery and site access
Give us your town or city, the access arrangements and any timing requirements. Ask what you need to prepare before delivery and whether the quote includes collection, transport, assembly or guidance. Confirm those details in writing before placing the order.
